What we do: outcome 2
Local communities and governments understand the vulnerabilities to climate variability and climate change in the region.
Using the environmental and socio-economic elements exposed to climate threats, a Vulnerability Analysis will be addressed, taking into consideration socio-economic and environmental indicators chosen for both basins. The results of the Vulnerability Analysis will serve as basis to design or adapt climate change adaptation measures and define actions that will be carried out jointly with the community; utilizing several participative tools.
Adaptation actions will be oriented toward the reduction of vulnerability (socio-economic and environmental) and the strengthening of the Early Warning Systems (EWS) in the region. EWSs, or SATs for its acronym in Spanish, take into consideration the alliance of regional and local actors involved in the surveillance, dissemination and response to alerts by combining advances in science and technology with local knowledge and practices.
